FRAMINGHAM – Jane A. (Whippen) Walsh, 87, a longtime resident of Framingham, died peacefully surrounded by her loving family, Wednesday, November 24, 2021.
Born in Brighton, she was the daughter of the late Joseph A. & Mary Catherine (Chase)Whippen, and the loving wife of the late Eugene E. Walsh.
Jane was raised and educated in Brighton and married her Brighton High sweetheart Eugene shortly after. They settled in Framingham where they raised their children.
After the children had grown, Jane graduated from Framingham Union School of Nursing, and worked for a time at St. Patrick’s Manor. She and Eugene spent almost 20 years in Wolfeboro, NH enjoying their retirement.
Jane enjoyed a good book, and was always knitting or crocheting, and took solace in day trips.
Jane is survived by her children, Laurel Gagen of Framingham, Marlene Sexton & her husband Michael of Marstons Mills, Jeannette Hanson & her husband Peter of Ossipee, NH, and Andrew of Framingham, five cherished grandchildren, Keith & his wife Tanya, Katrina, Sean & his wife Karen, Shannon, and Grace, nine great grandchildren, Aiden, Koen, Adelyn, Ella, Sophie, Griffin, Summer, Austin and Olivia, her brother Joseph Whippen and many nieces and nephews. Besides her husband Eugene, Jane was predeceased by her son, Eugene “Buddy” Jr., her granddaughter Keely, her grandson Carl, and her siblings, Ellen Copatch, Virginia Murphy, Charlotte Griffin, Harold Whippen, Frances Murphy, and Margaret Savilonis.
Family and friends will honor and remember Jane’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Monday, November 29 from 3-7 p.m.
Services and interment will be private.
