FRAMINGHAM – Frank J. Mangini, 91, of Framingham died, Wednesday, November 17, 2021, at the MetroWest Medical Center in Framingham, MA.
Born in Bari, Italy, he was the son of the late Michele (Michael) and Caterina Mangini. He was the devoted husband of 65 years to the late Anne Antoinette (Fini) Mangini.
Frank graduated from Framingham High School in 1948 and attended numerous managerial courses at Northeastern University.
He enlisted in the Air Force in 1951 and served as a Staff Sergeant though the Korean War until his honorable discharge in 1955.
He worked as a purchasing director for several Commercial Office Supply Companies until his retirement. Frank was an avid reader, having read almost every book in the library.
He also enjoyed golf at the Framingham Country Club where he was a member for many years.
He also enjoyed competing in Bocce tournaments at the Columbus Club in Framingham, where his team won many tournaments.
Frank is predeceased by his daughter, Anne Marie (Mangini) Moran and his brother Paul Mangini. He is survived by a son Michael, and his wife Susan of Hopkinton, MA, daughter, Carol (Mangini) Nau and her husband Albert “Bert” Nau of Milford, MA, and Son-in-law, William Moran of Goffstown, NH. Grandchildren, Cristina Mangini of Hopkinton, MA, Timothy Nau of Uxbridge, MA, Rebecca Nau and her husband Phill Cann of N. Smithfield, RI., Tyler Moran and Kira Moran both of Goffstown, NH.
He is also survived by his Sister-in-law Patricia Flynn and her husband Frank of Leominster, MA. He also leaves several nieces and nephews, his late brother Paul Mangini’s daughter Cathryn (Mangini) Winkler and her husband Kenneth Winkler of Baltimore, MD and son Michael Mangini of New York, New York.
Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend his funeral Mass on Tuesday, November 23, 2021, at 10AM at St. Bridget’s Catholic Church, 830 Worcester Road, Framingham Ctr.
Burial will follow in Edgell Grove Cemetery, Framingham, MA.
Visiting hours will be Monday, November 22, 2021 from 4-7PM at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech St. (Corner of Union Ave.) Framingham. At the request of the family, face masks are required.
