FRAMINGHAM – When I first met Mary Kate Feeney four years ago, we were opponents. While I ran a campaign that substituted dollars with enthusiasm and experience with passion, she showed our team how to be pragmatic, confident and move with surgical precision. And frankly, I deeply resented her for her expertise.

As eventual colleagues and friends over the past four years, I have gotten a chance to see her knowledge, dedication and compassion grow exponentially. Mary Kate’s incredible work ethic is matched only by her commitment to public service.

Many of us have had the opportunity to see her tremendous attention to detail and devotion to what she does, especially when the benefit of others is involved.

I have no doubt in my mind that not a single District 3 constituent concern will go overlooked with Mary Kate as its councilor because of who she is. She is a public servant at her core and will bring all of that commitment to the job.

She has been an integral member of our SIFOC and has served as acting chair on two occasions. Despite being passed over by the Mayor on multiple occasions for the opportunity to be chair, she has never wavered in her dedication to her work in the committee.

I have also had the opportunity to serve with her on Framingham FORCE as a board member and gotten a chance to follow her lead throughout my tenure in the organization on multiple projects.

She is selfless and collaborative and will bring that same energy to the Framingham City Council. Her ability to have difficult discussions diplomatically is exactly what is needed in our municipal government.

Mary Kate understands that being an elected official is a job and a duty, not a privilege to be gloated about; and that we are only as good as our ability to represent those we serve.
On November 2nd, District 3 will make the choice between two candidates, and I urge them to vote for Mary Kate Feeney.
