FRAMINGHAM – Frances “Fran” (Murray) McCann, age 90, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 6, 2021 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born September 5, 1931 in Utica New York, the daughter of Rena (Encarnacao) and John Murray.

She was a graduate of Saint Francis de Sales High School in Utica, and was employed for many years as a cook at Marian High School in Framingham, Massachusetts where she cared for the students as if they were her own.

With her loving husband Edward, Fran dedicated her entire life to her family. She found most joy centered around her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren, and their numerous sporting events and performances. They were her mission and she nurtured each and every one physically, emotionally, and spiritually with profound love and understanding. Her passing has created an enormous void for all who loved and will always love her.

Fran was predeceased by her parents, her husband Edward, her siblings, John Murray, Mary McNeil, Therese Boehlert, and her son-in-law Patrick Hanley.

Fran leaves behind her beloved nine children: Maureen Carney and her husband Mike; Patty Burke; Brian McCann and his wife Kathy; Erin Hanley-Barbieri and her husband Tom; Kathleen McCann; Dennis McCann; Michael McCann and his wife Cathy; Colleen Gazard and her husband Joe; and Courtney Collins and her husband Chuck. She also leaves 18 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews, and her dear friend Sister Virginia O’Connell, all who adored her.

We would like to thank the staffs of Heritage of Framingham and Mary Ann Morse of Natick for the outstanding care and love shown her and us, and for becoming her surrogate family during the pandemic. We will never be able to thank you enough.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend visiting hours on Friday, October 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Norton Funeral Home, 53 Beech street in Framingham,

Her funeral Mass will be celebrated on Saturday, October 9, 2021 at noon St. Matthew Church, 26 Highland St, Southborough, 01772.
