FRAMINGHAM – The Framingham State University women’s cross country team finished fourth in the 2021 Massachusetts State Collegiate Athletic Conference (MASCAC) Women’s Cross Country Preseason Poll as voted upon by the eight MASCAC head coaches.

The Rams return Eliza Weisse (Hampden) who earned All-Conference honors with a ninth place time of 20:51 at the championship meet in 2019.

Bridgewater State was chosen by the coaches from around the league to claim the 2021 MASCAC Crown. The Bears had four first place votes for 34 points to earn the top spot.

Earning the other three first place votes is Westfield State in second with 33 points. Worcester State is up next in third with 24 points in front of the Rams. Sitting in fifth place is Fitchburg State with 19 points and closing out the 2021 preseason poll are Massachusetts Maritime and MCLA in sixth and seventh with nine points and eight points, respectively.

The Rams open their season on Friday, September 3 when they travel to Franklin Park in Boston to take on Suffolk University.
