FRAMINGHAM – Police officers in Framingham arrested a Framingham man, 28, on charges of driving a moped without a helmet and with a license yesterday, August 26.

A police officer observed a man “operating a moped without a helmet and conducted a motor vehicle stop,” said Framingham Police spokesperson Lt. Rachel Mickens.

Upon investigation, it was determined that the driver was operating the moped without a license and also had a warrant out of Marlborough, said Lt, Mickens.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts requires drivers to wear “protective headgear,” when driving a moped.

Police arrested Alexander Cruz, 28, of 40 Cochituate Road of Framingham at Prindiville Avenue and Hampshire Road at 1:16 p.m.

He was charged with operating a motor vehicle without a license, and operating a motor vehicle while not meeting safety standards.
