DENNIS – Maureen A. (Murphy) Garbarino, age 77, longtime resident of Framingham and Dennis died peacefully surrounded by her family after a long courageous battle with Alzheimer’s disease. 

Maureen was married to the love of her life Dominic A. Garbarino for 52 years. Born in Beverly, she was the daughter of the late Daniel F. Murphy and Ann L. (Bonaventura) Murphy. 

She was a graduate of Beverly High School class of 1962 and the Beverly School of Nursing class of 1965.

Maureen, affectionately known as Mo, loved her work caring for people as an ER nurse at Beverly Hospital and as an Aide at the Adult Day Center in Framingham.

A north shore girl at heart, she embraced living in Framingham and summering at her cottage by Bay View Beach in Dennis. She created the most welcoming homes in both her Warren Road and Wild Hunter neighborhoods, always filled with family and friends. She treasured her role as Nana and loved every moment with her grandchildren.  Maureen enjoyed caring for family, friends and neighbors, she was truly loved by all who were blessed to know her.

She will be remembered most by her family as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and sister.

In addition to her husband Dominic, Maureen is survived by her four adoring children Nicole Frotten and her husband Michael of Auburn, Dominic F. Garbarino and his wife Alicia of Shrewsbury, Lynne Burkhardt and her husband Timothy of Sutton and Kate MacCausland and her husband Scott of Shrewsbury; her 11 cherished grandchildren: Ashley, Jake and Alyssa Frotten, Dominic, Grace and Maggie Garbarino, Colin and Jack Burkhardt, and Riley, Kelly and Natalie MacCausland; her two treasured sisters: Janet Egan and her husband Denny of Dennis, Kristen McCarthy and husband Kevin of Marblehead; her three dear brothers: Daniel Murphy and wife Judy of Del Rey Beach, FL, Leonard Murphy of Londonderry, NH, and Kevin Murphy of Boston, MA: and finally by her beloved nieces, nephews, cousins and lifelong friends.  She was predeceased by her much-loved sister in law Rose Sweeney and brother in law the Hon. James M. Sweeney.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit Wednesday August 11, 2021 from 5to 7 p.m. at Boyle Bros. Funeral Home, 173 Union Avenue in Framingham. 

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Bridget’s Church, 830 Worcester Road in Framingham on Thursday August 12 at 10 a.m.

Burial will follow at St. Stephen’s Cemetery, Fenwick St. Framingham.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to the Alzheimer’s Association 309 Waverley Oaks  Road Waltham , MA 02452.
