FRAMINGHAM – Mayor Yvonne Spicer has nominated marathon runner Susan Richardson to the Team Framingham Committee.

A District 4 resident, Richardson has been a runner since 2002, and has completed 14 marathons.

She has served as a mentor for Team Framingham 3 times, and has been an active member of the Greater Framingham Running Club since 2005.

She wrote in her application she loves “running and especially mentoring new runners and “back of the pack” runners like myself.”

The Team Framingham Steering Committee plans and administers all aspects of the Team Framingham Boston Marathon program on behalf of the City of Framingham.

The Committee was the brainchild of former Selectman Mike Bower, who still serves on the Committee.

The 11-member City Council, as the legislative branch of City Council, has the right to approve or disapprove of mayoral appointments. A simple majority or 6 votes is needed for approval. If no action is taken within 30 days of today, July 21, here appointment is automatically approved.
