FRAMINGHAM — All three Framingham beaches are closed again to swimming as of this evening, July 20.

Saxonville Beach has been closed due to toxic cyanobacteria (blue-green algae), which is unsafe for humans and pets.

Lake Waushakum beach has been closed since opening day on June 17 – more than a month.

Today, July 20, the tests indicated elevated E.coli bacteria counts at Learned Pond beach, and thus it is now closed, too.

The water will be re-tested and the waterfronts will open once the bacteria is back within acceptable limits, said Framingham Parks & Recreation.

The beaches will be open for sunbathing, while staff is present, while the waterfront is closed.
