FRAMINGHAM – All three of the City of Framingham’s public beaches are closed.

Lake Waushakum has never opened this season.

The City’s beaches opened in mid-June, but the District 8 public beach has had a high e coli bacteria count and has yet to open for swimming.

On Tuesday, July 13, both Saxonville Lake and Learneds Pond beaches were closed for swimming due to high e coli bacteria. The beaches were tested on Monday, July 12.

And today, Saxonville Lake was closed due a toxic algae blooms.

The Framingham Parks & Recreation Department is awaiting new test results for all three beaches, but even if the e coli count is lower for Saxonville, it will remain closed due to the blue green algae.
