NORTON – The National Weather Service in Boston/Norton has issued a Flood Warning for the Sudbury River At Saxonville in Framingham today, just after 12:15 p.m.

Tropical Storm Elsa has brought significant rainfall to the region, resulting in sharp rises in some area rivers.

Minor flooding is forecast for the Sudbury River in Framingham, said the federal agency.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive cars through flooded areas. Caution is urged when walking near riverbanks.

The heavy rains have also closed Route 9 at Route 126 is closed due to flooding.

Earlier today a flash flood watch was increased to a flash flood warning for Framingham and MetroWest.

The alert is in effect through 4 p.m.
