FRAMINGHAM – The 11-member Framingham City Council on Tuesday, June 29, unanimously approved a District 8 residents to the 7-member Framingham Community Development Committee.

The Committee, in cooperation with the City of Framingham’s Division of Planning and Community Development Department, works to satisfy the citizen participation requirements of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974, hold public hearings to obtain views of citizens on community development and housing needs, and provide citizens with adequate opportunities to participate in the development, implementation and evaluation of the Community Development Program. The Committee also reviews and make recommendations for the CDBG grant program.

Mayor Yvonne Spicer had nominated Beverly Good and Garrett Colon, both from Precinct 15 and District 8 on June 4.

With these appointments, there are now three residents from District 8 on the 7-member Committee.
