Ashland Crossing Guard Thoresen Honored For 49 Years of Service

ASHLAND – Ashland Chief of Police Vince Alfano recently provided crossing guard Barbara Thoresen with a plaque thanking her for her dedicated service to the Town of Ashland.

Thorensen retired her post last July after serving for 49 years as a crossing guard.

“Many of our own staff remember Barbara safely crossing them to school when they were younger. She was truly a fixture on her post and her presence will be missed immensely. Enjoy your retirement Barbara and thank you for your service,” said Ashland Police in its social media post today.
