FRAMINGHAM – Firefighters battled a brush fire near Dudley Road Wednesday afternoon, April 14.

The call came in after 1 p.m. for 2 Dudley Road.

Engine 1 and Brush 1 were dispatched to an area near Farm Pond and the City’s City brush dump area, initially.

The brush fire was “approximately ½ acre in size,” said Fire Chief Michael Dutcher.

“Engine 1 called for additional staffing, and Engine 3 also responded,” said the Chief.

Companies contained the fire to the ½ acre, extinguished and wet down the area so no rekindle would occur, said Chief Dutcher.

Companies cleared after about 2 hours.

Cause is undetermined, said Chief Dutcher.
