FRAMINGHAM – Wendy A. Costanza, born in Framingham Massachusetts and a resident of Narragansett for the past 26 years, died peacefully on March 15, 2021 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Wendy was 52 years old, an avid, competitive runner, and a valued board member of the Narragansett Running Association. She completed four marathons, including the Boston Marathon. Wendy also completed the infamous Mount Washington Road race — twice, and the Flattest Century in the East — a 100 mile bike ride.

Wendy was fiercely loyal friend with a strong sense of adventure and she especially loved to travel and be outdoors.

She is the daughter of the late Mary Jane Costanza and the late John Francis Costanza of Framingham, a Framingham Fire Lt. who died in the line of duty in 1979. Wendy is survived by her brother, John F. Costanza, Jr. and his partner Regina Vertone of Albany, NY, her sister Cynthia Sanderson Arena and her husband Salvatore of Sarasota FL and her nephews Brandon and Logan Arena, and she is pre-deceased by her nephew the late Ryan Arena. She also leaves behind her beloved cousin, Christina M. Costanza-Santos, her husband Stephen and her other two nephews, Tristan and Trevor McHoul.

Wendy is also survived by her beloved dog Isaac and a very dear and close network of friends who she considered to be her extended family.

All services will be held on Friday March 19 at St. Thomas More Church, 53 Rockland Street, Narragansett, RI.  The viewing will be held at the church from 10:30am to 11:30am.  This time can be used to pay your respects to Wendy.  The mass will begin at 11:30am.

Burial will follow at Saint Stephens Cemetery, Fenwick Street, Framingham Massachusetts.

In lieu of flowers, Wendy’s wish was for donations to be made to Save A Lab Rescue at www.savealabrescue.org/donate.html
