FRAMINGHAM – Patrick T. Cintolo, Jr. 81, a longtime resident of Bellingham, died Thursday, March 4, 2021, just days away from the one-year anniversary of the passing of his beloved wife, the late Joan C. (Trefry) Cintolo.

Born in Framingham, Patrick was the son of the late Patrick T. Sr. & Angelina (Peso) Cintolo, and was an altar server at St. Stephens Church as a child.

Patrick was a graduate of Framingham High School where he was a track and field star.

Upon graduation, he enlisted in the US Navy, serving on board the USS Thomas J. Gary and the destroyer, the USS Miller. Patrick served his country honorably, including a yearlong deployment to West Germany, during The Berlin Wall Crisis.

Once he returned home, he married Joan, and began attending Bentley College. They settled in Bellingham to raise their family, and after years of working in accounting for different firms, he began his own company PTC Consulting based in Wrentham which he ran for almost 25 years.

Patrick had a thirst for knowledge, and a curious mind. A voracious reader, he was particularly intrigued by unexplained history/phenomena and mystery/detective fiction. He had a lifelong passion for coin collecting, as well as genealogy, which he pursued extensively, travelling widely.  Patrick also enjoyed landscaping and was an avid bird watcher.

Patrick is survived by his children, Geralyn J. “Geri” Machowski & her husband Stephen of Cumberland, RI, and Jeffrey P. Cintolo & his wife Suky of Norton, his step grandson, Benson Chang, his sisters, Anne Marie Marsh & her husband Clinton, and Marylou Cintolo all of Framingham, as well as sister-in law Susan (Trefry) Heerde and her husband Ric, of CT, and brother- in-law as well as close friend, Robert Trefry of Alabama, who introduced his sister to Patrick who soon became his wife. In addition, he had several nieces and nephews, Chris Marsh of Douglas, Scott Marsh of Upton, Jennifer (Trefry) Sumners, Brian Trefry, both of Alabama, and Deirdre (Trefry) Davis of NY who he mentored in accounting.

Considering the current health restrictions, Patrick’s family will honor his life privately, his services will be live streamed on Thursday morning, March 11 at 10 o’clock.  Followed by his private committal services in MA National Cemetery, Bourne.

In lieu of flowers, remembrances may be made in Patrick’s memory to:  The American Cancer Society at www.cancer.org.

Arrangements by the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home of Framingham. For live streamed services or to share a memory with Patrick’s family, kindly visit www.mccarthyfh.com
