MARLBOROUGH – The City of Marlborough remains a high-risk community for the coronavirus.

Today, October 16, City announced 11 new positive COVID-19 cases since Wednesday.

The City is reporting a total of 1,349 cases, since the pandemic began.

Marlborough became one of the Commonwealth’s high-risk communities in the state at the end of September.

The City of Marlborough has a rate of 18.9 per day per 100,000 people as of October 12.

The State considers a community high risk if there are more than 8 new cases per day per 100,000 people over a 2-week period.

There have been 72 deaths since the pandemic began in the city.

The good news is that 1,216 individuals have recovered from the virus.

Active cases in the City decreased from 72 to 61.
