FRAMINGHAM – Last month, Framingham Health Director Sam Wong requested anyone who has never been tested for COVID-19, or anyone who may have been exposed to get tested at one of the three FREE testing sites in the City of Framingham, offered by the state. Wong made his statement to the Framingham Board of Library Trustees on September 21.

On Tuesday, District 6 City Council Phil Ottaviani Jr. was tested at the walk-up site at Amazing Things Arts Center. He had his results within 24 hours and tested negative.

In the last 14 days, 5,511 tests of Framingham individuals were conducted with 137 individuals testing positive.

The rate of positivity in the City for the last 14 days is 2.49%, which is lower than last week’s rate of 3.32%.

Since the pandemic began, there have been 34,259 COVID tests of individuals in Framingham. Some individuals may have been tested more than once.

Framingham is considered a high-risk community for the virus, and has been on the state red list since the end of August.

Framingham is one of six communities out of 351 in the state, where the Commonwealth of Massachusetts is providing assistance to help stop the spread of the virus.

There are three FREE covid-19 testing sites in the City of Framingham, offered by the Baker-Polito administration.

There is a FREE drive-thru site at Walsh Middle school open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Mondays through Saturdays. It is closed on Sundays.

There is a walk-up testing site at Amazing Things on Hollis Street on Tuesdays & Thursdays from 3 to 6 p.m.

There is a walk-up testing site with limited parking at SMOC HQ at 7 Bishop Street on Mondays, Wednesday, & Fridays from 3 to 6 p.m.
