FRAMINGHAM – September is a special month for marathon runners – in normal years, registration opens in September for the following year’s Boston Marathon.

Unfortunately, 2020 is anything but normal.

The Boston Athletic Association (B.A.A.) announced last week that it is postponing registration for the next Boston Marathon and convening an advisory committee to determine when, and how, the race can resume as an in-person event. No timeline has been announced.

Team Framingham usually kicks off in September for the race in April; however, our Steering Committee has decided to delay until the B.A.A. announces its decisions about the next race. There is simply too much uncertainty to proceed at this time.

We would like to thank our runners, charity partners, sponsors, City departments and staff, the local business community, local media, and the entire Framingham community for your ongoing support through these challenging times. We look forward to getting back on the road, training and raising
important funds for Framingham-focused charitable organizations as soon as it is safe to do so.

Please contact us at  teamframinghammarathon@gmail.com if you have any questions.
