FRAMINGHAM – The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing that it will be implementing temporary closures of the off-ramps on Interstate 90 eastbound and westbound at exit 12 (Route 9) in Framingham. The closures are needed to facilitate construction operations, and will take place during overnight hours as follows:

  • The off-ramp from I-90 eastbound at exit 12 (Route 9 Framingham) will be closed overnight tonight, Wednesday, August 19, and on Thursday, August 20, from 10 p.m., through 5 a.m. the following morning.   Traffic looking to exit I-90 eastbound at exit 12 will be directed to follow the detour signage in place and utilize exit 13 (Route 30 Natick, Framingham).

  • The off-ramp from I-90 westbound exit 12 (Route 9 Framingham) will be closed from 10 p.m. on Thursday, August 20, through 5 a.m. on Friday, August 21. Traffic looking exit I-90 westbound at exit 12 will be directed to continue westbound and take exit 11A (I-495) to access Route 9 from I-495 northbound at exits 23 A and B.

Appropriate signage, law enforcement details, and advanced message boards will be in place to guide drivers through the work area.

Drivers who are traveling through the area should reduce speed and use caution.

All scheduled work is weather dependent and may be impacted due to an emergency.
