HOPKINTON – Troopers assigned to State Police-Charlton responded to reports of a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian on the Mass Pike eastbound at the 105 mile marker in Hopkinton around 3:15 p.m. today, August 9.
Upon their arrival they observed a 2013 Mazda CX-5, operated by 40-year-old male from Hebron, Ct., that struck a pedestrian in the travel lane of Route 90 eastbound.
Westboro and Hopkinton Fire and EMS responded and pronounced the pedestrian deceased at the scene.

Members of the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner responded as well.
The identity of the pedestrian remains under investigation.
The cause and circumstances of the crash, including why the pedestrian was in the roadway, remain under investigation by Troopers assigned to State Police-Charlton, Middlesex County State Police Detective Unit, Collision Analysis Reconstruction Section, and Crime Scene Services.
Troopers were assisted on scene by MassDOT, Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, and Westboro and Hopkinton Fire & EMS.
