Traffic Alert: Road Construction Week of June 22 in Framingham

FRAMINGHAM – The following is a list of road construction project in the City of Framingham.

Road work includes, Framingham DPW, utility projects, and MassDOT projects.

All projects will be conducted in conformance with the health and safety protocols set forth by the Commonwealth and the City of Framingham.

As the situation with COVID-19 is ever-changing, construction schedules are subject to change.

Work is weather permitting.

Projects includes:

Beaver Street Bridge: Bridge work continues. Beaver Street Bridge will be closed to through traffic and pedestrians until Fall 2020. A detour will be in effect at all times.

Belvidere Avenue Gas Main Relay – Eversource Gas: Eversource Gas will relay gas main on Belvidere Avenue. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect. Expect delays at times.

Eames Street and Pratt Street Gas Main Relay – Eversource Gas: Eversource Gas will continue relaying gas main on Eames Street and Pratt Street.A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect. Expect delays at times.

Flagg Drive Water Main Replacement: A City hired contractor will begin installing a temporary water bypass in anticipation of water main installation. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect. Expect delays at times.

Grace Street Sewer Main Replacement: The Sewer Division will begin replacing sewer main on Grace Street. Residents and emergency vehicles will have access at all times.

Hillcrest and Berkshire Water Main Replacement: The Water Division will begin installing water main on Hillcrest Road. Hillcrest Road and Berkshire Road will be open to residents and emergency vehicles only.

Miscellaneous Sidewalk and Road Repairs: A City hired contractor will continue making miscellaneous sidewalk and road repairs near the following locations: Waverly Street, several locations on Blandin Avenue, South Street, Franklin Street near Park Street, Eden Street near Union Avenue, several locations on Fountain Street, Worcester Road at Vernon Street, Franklin Street at Brewster Road, Aaron Street, Concord Street at Lindbergh Road, and Leigh Street. Expect minor delays at times. Police details will be on-site to facilitate pedestrian and vehicular traffic.

Nobscot Intersection Improvements: Verizon will set new utility poles in preparation for the intersection improvements project. Expect minor delays at times.

Union Avenue Roadway Improvements Design: A City hired contractor will conduct soil investigations along Union Avenue. Expect minor delays. Police details will be on-site to facilitate traffic.

Worcester Road Water and Sewer Improvements: Miscellaneous sidewalk, curbing, and trench paving. One lane will be closed on Worcester Road/Rt.9 East. Expect delays. Construction is scheduled Monday-Friday, 7 a.m.-4 p.m.
