SUDBURY – Maria D. Perez, 62, of Sudbury died Saturday June 6, 2020 at home.

She was the wife of Lorenzo Perez for the past 17 years.

She was born, raised and educated in Cali, Colombia the daughter of Gustavo Meneses Carvajal and Blanca Elvia Ortega. She attended Thomas Aquinas College.

She was a sweet and kind person, very attentive, known for being a great cook, she enjoyed spending quality time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Maria enjoyed watching soccer matches seated next to Lorenzo. She taught herself how to knit by watching YouTube videos and she loved knitting for her grandchildren. She enjoyed talking and being a listening ear to her friends and all those around her. She was a great woman of faith and that was evident in the strength, resilience and joy that she displayed throughout her life even throughout her 2 year fight with cancer.

Besides her husband she leaves two daughters, Catalina Perez and her husband Paul of Sudbury and Natalia Chacon and her husband Abiud of Marlborough; Two step-sons, Ronald Perez of Basking Ridge, NJ and his wife Esther and Jean Perez of Everett and his wife Dylia; five brothers, Dorian Meneses of Miami, Henry Meneses of Malden, Gustavo, Fabian and Marco Antonio Meneses all of Cali, Colombia; two sisters, Julieta and Piedad Meneses both of Miami; eight grandchildren, Camila and Matias Perez, Elliot and Samuel Chacon, Antonio, Victoria, Aidan and Adeline Perez, in addition to four nieces and eight nephews.

A funeral service will be held Sunday June 18 at 7 p.m. in Centro Cristiano Emanuel, 814 Boston Post Road East, Marlborough.
