FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham is reporting 11 new cases of the Coronavirus on Sunday morning, May 24.

There have been 29 new cases in the last 48 hours, and 43 new cases in the last 72 hours.

Framingham has reported more than 200 new cases in the last 7 days.

Since the pandemic began on March 11 in the City, there have been 1,593 positive COVID-19 cases.

Framingham is one of the top 10 communities in the state with coronavirus cases.

The good news is 793 individuals have recovered, which is roughly 49%.

In total, there have been 86 deaths due to COVID-19 or complications from the virus in the City since the pandemic began.

There were 26 fatalities this week, which means 30% of the fatalities were in the last week

In addition to the active cases, the Framingham Health Department currently is following 203 residents in quarantine.

It is unknown how many individuals have been tested for the virus in Framingham.

There are more than 70,000 residents in the City of Framingham.

The City said via its spokesperson it does not have “Framingham-specific information on how many of our residents are being tested.  The state receive statewide information from all testing labs on the number of tests conducted each day.  We, nor any individual community, receive community-specific information from any testing lab.”
