FRAMINGHAM – The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is moving forward with the purchase of 8.5 acres of property on Mount Wayte Avenue for a new MassBay Community College campus in Framingham.

SOURCE broke the news of the Mount Wayte property in 2018.

The 89 Mount Wayte Avenue property is owned by the Massachusetts State College Building Authority and is currently used for parking and storage by Framingham State University.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts’ Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance will hold a public hearing on Wednesday, May 27 at 6 p.m.

The state plans to construct a new Health Sciences Center for Massachusetts Bay Community, with accessory parking to the existing uses by Framingham State University. Both uses will coexist on the property.

MassBay is currently leasing the former Farley School on Flagg drive next to Fuller Middle and across the street from McCarthy Elementary School.

The public hearing will be conducted by phone call-in on Wednesday, May 27 at 6 p.m., as permitted by the Governor’s Order Suspending Certain Provisions of the Open Meeting Law.
