FRAMINGHAM – The 7th Annual MetroFest scheduled for June 13, 2020, at Bowditch Field in Framingham has been cancelled.

Framingham Parks & Recreation Director James Synder told the Framingham City Council’s Finance subcommittee about the cancellation at a meeting this morning, May 9. He said the event can not be permitted at Bowditch Field during this pandemic.

MetroFest is an arts, music & food truck festival hosted by the MetroWest Visitors Bureau.

The Bureau still has the event on its website as rain or shine, with no cancellation notice, but the Framingham Parks & Recreation Director said today it wont be at Bowditch on June 13.

UPDATED: The MetroWest Visitors Bureau said it is working on a re-configured event, possibly a virtual event, during this pandemic crisis. A statement from the Bureau is due possibly next week.

The signature event of the Bureau attracts more than 7,500 attendees.
