MARLBOROUGH – The City of Marlborough reported 16 new cases of the coronavirus in the last 24 hours.
That is a 2.83% increase in COVID-19 cases in the last 24 hours
The City of Marlborough is now reporting a total of 581 coronavirus cases as of Wednesday, May 6
There have been 18 fatalities due to COVID-19, said the City.
It is unknown how many individuals have been tested in the City of Marlborough.
As of May 6 at 4 p.m., the state has tested 339,639 individuals. The state tested 6,290 individuals in the last 24 hours.
The Commonwealth of Massachusetts reported 208 deaths COVID-19 today, May 6.
That brings the total number of fatalities due to the coronavirus since the pandemic in Massachusetts to 4,420.
The state reported 1,754 new cases in the last 24 hours. That brings the total number of positive cases in Massachusetts to 72,025.
The good news is that 300 individuals have recovered from the virus.
Massachusetts ranks third in the United States behind New York, and New Jersey for the most positive cases.
The 72,000 cases is the equivalent of all the cases in the countries or Ireland Belgium.
There is no cure and no vaccine for COVID-19, at this time.

Two weeks ago, the number of COVID-19 cases hospitalized was at 9%. A good sign is the number has been 5% over the weekend and every day this week.
Another good sign, the number of individuals in ICUs in the state is under 1,000 for the past six days.
Middlesex County has the most positive cases at 16,327.
In comparison Barnsatble County has 997 cases.
The United States now has the most confirmed cases worldwide 1.21 million cases as of 4 p.m. May 6.
Worldwide, there are more than 3.73 million confirmed cases.
The Centers for Disease Control is reporting 70,802 deaths as of noon, May 5.
The U.S. is leading the world in COVID-19 deaths, with more than 25,000 deaths in New York.
