FRAMINGHAM – Herbert Cecil Jordan, age 92, of Framingham, died Wednesday April 29, 2020 at the Carlyle House in Framingham due to COVID-19.

Born in Brockton, he was the son of the late Cecil and Jennie (MacNeil) Jordan.

He was the loving husband to the late Marjorie R. (Schofield) Jordan who died in 2006.

Herbert owned an operated his own painting company for many years.

Mr. Jordan was a true patriot and served honorably in the U.S. Navy during WWII. 

After his service in the military, he continued his love of his country and fellow veterans by raising money for Framingham’s local veteran organizations by way of his yard sales.

For the past 3 years, Herbert called Carlyle House his home where he enjoyed making new friends, playing bingo every Thursday and Friday night, usually winning a prize and calling his family to brag.

Herbert is survived by his four children, Susan Jordan of Ashland, Mark Jordan of Maine, Cynthia Varady and her husband Louis of Holliston and Jennifer Kirstein and her husband Steven of Holliston; grandchildren, Mark Varady, Alex Varady, Maya Ruth Kirstein and Eli Kirstein. Also survived by his son-in-law, Paul Falzarano of Uxbridge and many nieces and nephews.

Herbert was the father of the late Nancy Falzarano and brother to the late Ralph and Robert Jordan.

Herbert’s funeral arrangements are under the direction of the Norton Funeral Home.

There will be a private burial in the Massachusetts National Cemetery in Bourne.
