FRAMINGHAM – Gasoline prices in Massachusetts remain the same this week, according to AAA Northeast, which has an office in Framingham.
AAA Northeast’s May 4 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.90 per gallon.
Massachusetts’s price is 12 cents above the national average of $1.78.
A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 94 cents higher at $2.84 per gallon.
“As some states begin to re-open businesses, those states will likely see demand increase and pump prices will likely follow suit,” said Mary Maguire, Director, Public and Legislative Affairs, in a press release.
The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 95 cents, from a low of $1.44 to a high of $2.39.
AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area.
Please remember to slow down and move over for any emergency vehicles on the side of the road.
AAA Northeast is a not-for-profit auto club with 64 offices in Rhode Island, Massachusetts, Connecticut, New Jersey, New Hampshire and New York, providing more than 5.7 million local AAA members with travel, insurance, finance, and auto-related services.
