FRAMINGHAM – Gasoline prices in Massachusetts remain the same this week, according to AAA Northeast, which has an office in Framingham.

AAA Northeast’s May 4 survey of prices in Massachusetts finds self-serve, regular unleaded averaging $1.90 per gallon.

Massachusetts’s price is 12 cents above the national average of $1.78.

A year ago at this time, the average price in Massachusetts was 94 cents higher at $2.84 per gallon.

“As some states begin to re-open businesses, those states will likely see demand increase and pump prices will likely follow suit,” said Mary Maguire, Director, Public and Legislative Affairs, in a press release.

The range in prices in the latest AAA survey for unleaded regular is 95 cents, from a low of $1.44 to a high of $2.39.

AAA advises motorists to shop around for the best prices in their area.
