MARLBOROUGH – The City’s Mayor Arthur Vigeant, Police Chief David Giorgi, and Public Health Director John Garside held a press conference today, April 1, to announce the sudden death of a man, 58.

The Office of the Medical Examiner has described the “sudden death in a person with influenza like symptoms during COVID-19 pandemic – manner of death was determined to be natural.”

Although this death has not been confirmed as a result of the outbreak of COVID-19, and the investigation is ongoing, officials announced it publicly in the name of safety and transparency.

Out of an abundance of caution, an individual associated with the deceased has been quarantined, said the City.

The City of Marlborough currently has more than 50 cases of COVID-19.
