FRAMINGHAM – Downtown Framingham Inc. will be asking the City of Framingham to waive parking meters for the 30 days to support downtown small businesses.

“We’re advocating for a 30-day parking meter waiver to support grab & go shopping, especially for our well-known array of restaurants, cafes, and sub shops that desperately need your patronage,” said Executive Director Courtney Thraen. “There were lots of open, on-street spots downtown along Route 126 this week, and we’d love to have you order take-out. One less hassle / worry could really help, especially for 15-min pop-ins”

The City Council has yet to vote on the proposal, but District 4 City Councilor Michael Cannon, who chairs the Council’s economic development subcommittee told DFI Inc. he is in favor of the proposal.
