FRAMINGHAM – Employees from MetroWest companies and organizations will engage in friendly competition at the Avidia Bank MetroWest Corporate 5K run/walk on Thursday, May 14 at 6:30 p.m.

The starting line is located at 1 Nicholas Road in Framingham.

For the fourth consecutive year, the event will be organized through the efforts of United Way of Tri-County, headquartered in Framingham.

United Way of Tri-County anticipates registration to exceed 500 runners and walkers from over 40 MetroWest businesses. Proceeds from the event will support programs and services provided by United Way of Tri-County in the 34 communities they serve in Middlesex, Norfolk and Worcester Counties, including hunger relief, early childhood literacy, and suicide prevention. Individuals can select the program they would like to fund.

“The United Way of Tri-County is proud to be a community building organization that brings people together to care for one another,” said United Way of Tri-County President and CEO Paul Mina. “The Avidia Bank MetroWest Corporate 5k brings the employees of corporations together to impact the needs of many in our community. We are impressed each year by the boundless energy we see in the participants and we are incredibly grateful for the funds they raise, as well to as our sponsors who make this all possible,” Mina said.

Teams of all sizes, ages, and skill levels are encouraged to participate. Individual runners and walkers are welcome; however, each participating company must have a minimum of 4 people in order to place for company awards. Registration fee is $30 per team member. Awards will be given to the company with the highest number of participants, top male and female finishers, top individual fundraisers, top company fundraiser and most creative team shirt. There will be complimentary chicken sandwiches after the event provided by Chick-fil-A of Framingham and beer available for purchase from Exhibit ‘A’ for those 21+ of age.
