FRAMINGHAM – Below is a list of road construction in the City of Framingham the final week of May 2020.

Work includes City of Framingham, Commonwealth of Massachusetts, and utility projects.

All projects will be conducted in conformance with the health and safety protocols set forth by the Commonwealth and the City of Framingham.

As the situation with COVID-19 is ever-changing, construction schedules are subject to change.

Weather will also impact the projects.

Beacon Street/Summer Street Intersection Improvements: Intersection improvements on Beacon Street at Summer Street continue. Final paving on Summer Street is scheduled for Thursday, May 28, during the day.Expect moderate delays while intersection improvements continue. Police will be on-site to facilitate traffic. During paving operations, Beacon Street and Summer Street traffic will be detoured. Please seek an alternate route.

Beaver Street Bridge
: Bridge work continues. The bridge will be closed to through traffic and pedestrians until Fall 2020. A detour will be in effect at all times.

Brigham Road Sewer Main Replacement: The Sewer Department will begin replacing sewer main on Brigham Road. Brigham Road will be open to residents only.

Cedar Street (from Waverly Street to Winthrop Street) Gas Main Relay – Eversource Gas: Gas main installation continues on Cedar Street from Waverly Street to Winthrop Street. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect. Expect delays at times.

Flanagan Drive Sewer Pumping Station: Soil/geotechnical investigations continue on Flanagan Drive and Belknap Road. Police details will be on-site to facilitate traffic. Expect delays at times.

Marble Street: A City hired contractor will mill and prep a portion of Waverly Street, Blandin Avenue, and Marble Street for paving. A one-way alternating traffic pattern will be in effect during milling operations. At times, Marble Street will be closed to through traffic. Expect moderate delays.

Osmose Utility Citywide Utility Pole Inspections – Verizon: Dig safe paint markings will be noticeable in the public right-of-way near telephone poles throughout the City for Osmose’s Citywide utility pole inspections. Union Avenue and Pearl Street Utilities:
Sewer main will be installed on Union Avenue near Proctor Street. Police details will be on-site to facilitate traffic. A one-lane alternating traffic pattern will be in effect at times. Expect moderate delays.

Worcester Road Water and Sewer Improvements: Water and sewer main installation continues from 150 Worcester Road/Route 9 East to the Natick town line. One to two lanes will be closed on Worcester Road/Rt.9 East. Expect delays. This project will temporarily be conducted between the hours of 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 5 a.m. m, Monday – Friday.
