FRAMINGHAM – A Framingham man tried to cash a fraudulent check at the bank for more than $2,200.00, and was arrested by Framingham Police on Saturday afternoon.

Police arrested at a bank inside a Stop & Shop on February 25 at 12:11 p.m. Dexter S. Mathurin, 29, of 45 Meredith Avenue of Framingham.

He was charged with forgery of a check, false check, attempted larceny by check, said Police

Framingham Police Lt. Rachel Mickens said he tried to cash the $2,200 check.

He was located outside the Stop & Shop, where the bank is located, and arrested.
