SPRINGFIELD – The Framingham State University men’s basketball team was defeated 78-61 Friday evening by the host Golden Bears at the 2022 Western New England Tip-Off Tournament.   

Golden Bears improve to 3-0.

Framingham State drops to 2-2 overall.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS: 

  • The Rams were led offensively by 10 points from JD Okafor. Okafor added five rebounds, a steal and a block. 
  • Bryan Thompson chipped in with seven points, six assists and four rebounds, while Julius Goines also tallied seven points on the night. 
  • Tevin Charles chipped in with seven points for the Rams, while Ryan England and Marshall Martin chipped in with six apiece off the bench. 
  • The Golden Bears received double double from Jake Harrison and Tim Restall. Harrison tallied a game-best 18 points with 12 boards, six assists, and three steals, while Restall chipped in with 17 points and 10 boards.  
  • Brian Geitner chipped in with 17 for the hosts, while Gavin Greene finished the game with 14. 
  • The Rams shot 39% from the floor for the game and 33% from behind the arc, while Western New England connected on 47% of their offerings including 27% from long range. 

UP NEXT:  The Rams are back in action tomorrow at 1 p.m. in the Consolation Game of the WNE Tip-Off Tournament.
