FRAMINGHAM – Robert “Bob” John LaRocca passed away on February 1, 2022 in his hometown of Westminster, Colorado.

Born on  April 2, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois one of Bob’s many gifts was his creativity.

He was an artist, not only of painting still life, portraits and landscapes, but of designing and building many structures from the East Coast to the West Coast and places in between.

Bob was married to his best friend and love, Marilyn for 60 years this past September. They have 2 children, and he was a beloved “Poppy” to 3 grandsons and 3 great grandsons.

Bob moved his family from Chicago to Crested Butte, Colorado in 1978 taking full advantage of the amazing skiing and other outdoor activities that Colorado offered. An avid pool player and golfer, Bob and Marilyn loved the adventure and excitement that came with traveling. He was passionate about the Constitution and was a great historian. Bob was a chapter leader for The John Birch Society for 58 years and enjoyed discussing political systems.

Bob was well loved by everyone who knew him but he was especially entertaining to children. He had an enormous amount of love for his many dogs throughout his life.

Bob leaves behind his wife Marilyn (Jurek), his daughter Julie Swiderski (Tom), his son Robert (Linda), grandsons Matthew and Michael (Mary) Swiderski, and Scott LaRocca, and great grandsons, Vincent, William and Thomas, his sister Lynn(Bob), his brothers Randy and Gene as well as many loving nieces and nephews.

Bob’s battle with serious medical issues in recent years showed his courage in facing life’s challenges with a smile. He was a man of great faith in the Lord, never worrying about trials, often saying, “Whatever the Good Lord decides”.

A celebration of life will be held on his birthday April 2, 2022, 10 a.m. at Connect Church 280 Pleasant St. Ashland MA 01721
