BOSTON – The Massachusetts State Senate announced today, April 15 that Diana Kasule has been hired as the new Human Resources Manager of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion for the Senate.

The position was created as a result of the Senate adoption of Rule 10C at the beginning of the 2019-2020 session.  The rule states, “There shall be within the Senate Office of Human Resources an Officer of Diversity and Inclusion who shall promote policies to direct and guide offices to recruit, hire, train, develop, advance, promote and retain a diverse workforce, consistent with Senate Rules, regulation and law.”

“On behalf of the entire Senate, I am very pleased to welcome Diana to our Human Resources team,” said Senate President Karen E. Spilka (D-Ashland).  “We are excited to begin the work necessary to create a more diverse and inclusionary workforce here, and we look forward to drawing on Diana’s experience, professionalism and commitment to helping everyone meet their potential.”

“I look forward to helping build a more diverse and inclusive workforce in the Senate and focusing on everyone’s professional development to help them acquire lifelong skills that can be utilized anywhere,” said Kasule, a Framingham resident, who began her new position on March 3, 2020.

Kasule previously worked at Tufts Health Plan as a Human Resources Learning and Development Training Specialist.  She also served as a Business Diversity Consultant there, helping to implement diversity initiatives such as business resources groups which connect like-minded individuals to share their experiences in the workplace and come together to solve problems that may affect them. 

Before that she held a number of administrative and HR positions, at Tufts Health Plan and elsewhere.

Kasule is a graduate of UMass Boston with a degree in Business Management and concentration in Leadership and Organizational Change.  She is certified in Managing Conflict and Confrontation and serves as a mentor of the Y Achievers Program.
