FRAMINGHAM – Sally A.“Nanny” Eastman, 85, a 55-year resident of Framingham, passed away unexpectedly on December 22, 2021, at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, Boston.
Sally was born April 14, 1936 to James Donahue Sr. and Carolyn Castonia in Lancaster, New Hampshire.
Sally spent her later childhood in Hudson, moving later to Cape Elizabeth, ME with her first husband Donald K. Eastman, to whom she was married 38 years and who predeceased her.
After graduating from the St. Elizabeth School of Nursing in Brighton, Sally devoted 30 years of nursing practice to the patients of St. Elizabeth Medical Center, spending many years serving the hospital’s breast cancer clinic.
She was a dedicated volunteer at the Callahan Senior Center in Framingham, where she lived out her final years doing what she loved to do most: caring for others.
Sally leaves her loving husband of 15 years, Roger Gilbert, as well as her daughters Tracey Eastman of Amherst, NY; Diane Eastman of Milford, CT; and Laurie Eastman of Lancaster.Sally was predeceased by her brother James Donahue Jr. and son, Christopher Eastman. She leaves her grandchildren Bailey Moore of Chicago, IL; Faith Sanders of Atlanta, GA and Brett and Marissa Dumais of Milford, CT as well as great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will honor and remember Sally’s life by gathering for visiting hours in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Wednesday, December 29 from 4-7 p.m.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated on Thursday morning in St. Michael Church, 23 Manning St. Hudson, at 11 o’clock.
Interment will follow in St. Michael Cemetery.
