16 COVID Cases Reported at Framingham Schools Monday; Half at Framingham High

FRAMINGHAM – Today, Monday, December 6, 16 cases of COVID were reported in the Framingham Public Schools.

Half the cases were at Framingham High School.

It is unknown if the cases are students, staff, or a combination.

On Friday, December 3, 16 new COVID-19 cases were reported in the Framingham Public Schools. Fifteen cases were reported on December 2, and a dozen cases on Dec. 1, for a total of 59 cases since the month began.

More than 85 COVID have been reported by the Framingham Public Schools since Thanksgiving break.

Last week, Framingham Public Schools made the decision to shut down a classroom at Harmony Grove Elementary to decrease the spike in cases. But four additional COVID cases were reported at Harmony Grove on December 2.

Today, two more cases were reported at Harmony Grove Elementary, along with the eight cases at Framingham High. Two cases were also reported at Barbieri Elementary.

One case each was reported at Dunning Elementary, McCarthy Elementary, Stapleton Elementary, and Potter Road Elementary.

There have been 267 COVID cases in the Framingham Public Schools since the school year began.

Framingham High has reported the most cases with 45.

Harmony Grove Elementary had had 29 cases, more than 85% of them in the last 30 days.

The district has asked parents to remind their child(ren) to do the following during the school day:

• Always wear a mask that fully covers your nose and mouth while indoors, unless you are having a mask break or you are eating
• Wear your mask on the bus
• Wash your hands often
• Maintain physical distance from others as much as possible, especially when eating lunch or snack
