BILLERICA – The Framingham High marching band & color guard finished in first place at the NESBA fall marching band competition in Billerica over the weekend.

The band & color guard captured first place in Division II with a score of 79.9 points, the exact same score they received last week in Wakefield to take first place.

This year’s show is “Pan & Hook” and it explores the relationship between the two well-known literary characters.

“Throughout the show, the audience will see sword fights, a pirate ship, Pan and Hook going head to head, and an epic conclusion involving our giant Crocodile – Tick Tock,” said Band Director Andy Jasinski.

A trio of juniors lead the marching band & color guard. They are Drum Major Isabel Feudo, Color Guard Captain, Abigail Fishman, and Battery Captain Mariana Trancoso.

“The band has had an exceptional year so far, especially considering almost 70% of them have never done competitive marching band before this year. They have worked very hard to ensure that the program stays strong after our year of online learning. These students are committed to growing as a group and developing their show,” said Jasinski.

“We knew during their August band camp that this was going to be a special group, but their continued push towards success has blown us away! We’re excited to see where the next 2 weeks take us,” said Jasinski.

The band & color guard will compete again in Dartmouth on Saturday, October 23.

The event starts at 2 p.m. Framingham will compete in Division II between 3:30 and 4:30 p.m.

Admission is $10
