WENHAM – The Gordon College men’s soccer team defeated Framingham State by a score of 5-0 Wednesday afternoon in Wenham, in the season opener for both teams.
HOW IT HAPPENED:
- The Fighting Scots got on the board for the first time right at the 31-minute mark when Chase Gwynn finished off a pass from Luckson Dambo to take a 1-0 lead into the break.
- Gordon added to their lead in the 52nd minute when Dambo scored with help from Benji Wright.
- The guests added three goals in the final 15 minutes to reach the final margin. In the 77th minute George Coogan scored followed by Gwynn in the 84th minute. Juilius Swaim tallied the final goal in the last minute of play.

INSIDE THE NUMBERS:
- Brody Veleber earned the shutout making one save on the afternoon.
- James Hartshorn took the loss making seven saves in the opener for the Rams.
- The Fighting Scots outshot the Rams by a 19-to-4 margin and were awarded 9 corner kicks to the Rams 0.
