UPDATED: Framingham’s Human Resources Director Resigning

FRAMINGHAM – Framingham’s Human Resources Director is leaving the Spicer administration.

The Town of Stow Town Administrator Denise Dembkoski announced today, August 25, Dolores Hamilton has been selected to serve as Stow’s first assistant town administrator.

Hamilton will begin her new role on Monday, Sept. 13. She will be primarily responsible for supporting the town’s human resources work, as well as overseeing constituent services.

Hamilton told SOURCE her last day with the City of Framingham is Sept. 8.

Since January 2020, the Spicer administration has hired a new police chief, a new fire chief, a new DPW director, a new library director, a new highway & sanitation director, a new water & wastewater sewer director, the chief assessor resigned, the health director resigned, the CFO resigned, the City’s Veterans Services Officer and Assistant Veterans Services Officer resigned, and the Community, Economic & Planning Director retired.

Hamilton’s salary was set to expire on Dec 31, 2021, after a vote of the City Council in June to only fund half of her $140,000 salary.

The Council wanted to explore the possibility of merging the City and public school HR departments, and the half funded salary was a push by the legislative branch to get the executive branch of government to act.

The new Stow position pays just under $90,000.

Along with that, she has nearly 24 years of experience in the municipal sector, which I am confident will serve her well here in Stow,” said Town Administrator Dembkoski in a press release from the Town fo Stow. “We are so happy to have her aboard, and on behalf of our residents, employees and community members, I would like to officially welcome her to Stow.”

Hamilton previously served as the director of human resources for the City of Framingham and City of Newton. She has also served as a director of human resources, recruitment coordinator, education coordinator and therapeutic recreation specialist in the healthcare industry, said a press release from the Town of Stow.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in social services and therapeutic recreation from the University of Connecticut. She also holds a master’s degree in business administration with a focus in healthcare administration from Western New England University.
