FRAMINGHAM – District 2 resident Brenda Diaz is being re-nominated for a seat on the Framingham Council on Aging by Mayor Yvonne Spicer.
She has served on the Council for one year, and speaks Spanish. She has also been a Marlboro Friends of Senior Board member for 3 years.
The nomination was made on July 13, and the City Council, the legislative branch of government, has 30 days to approve or reject. If no action is taken, the appointment is automatic for 3 years through June 30, 2024.
The 11-member The Council on Aging assists older adults to remain independent at home for as long as possible while providing for choices and opportunities. This includes identifying unmet needs and developing and implementing programs and services that help to meet those needs.

All 11 individuals are appointed by the Mayor.
The chair is District 1 resident Clyde Dottin. His term ends on June 30, 2023.
Other members are Glenda Thomas (District 1), Jennifer Rich (District 1), Audrey Hall (District 2), Ruthann Tomassini (District 3), Brian Sullivan (District 4), Vice Chair Mark Goldman (District 4), Linda Schwartz (District 5), Betty Muto (District 5) and Michael McGibbon (District 8)
There are no members on the Council on Aging from District 6, 7, or 9, at this time.
