ASHLAND – Lt. Richard Briggs, a 20-year member of the Ashland Police Department, was sworn in last week as the Acting Chief of Police and administered the Oath of Office by Town Clerk Tara Ward.

He replaces Chief Vincent Alfano who retired on June 30, after 2 1/2 years of dedicated service to the Ashland community.
