FRAMINGHAM – Joan M. (Merusi) Celorier passed away on June 24, 2021, at the age of 86

A lifelong resident of Framingham, she was the daughter of the late Clara V. (Simonetta)  and William F. Merusi.

She was also devoted to her brother, the late William F. Merusi, and her sister, the late Marguerite Merusi Savignano.

Joan graduated from Framingham High School, Class of 1951, and was married to William F. (Bill) Celorier for 58 years until his death in 2013.

Joan is survived by her daughter,  Mary E. (Marybeth) Celorier of Framingham, Massachusetts, and her son, Christopher J. (Chris) Celorier of Holliston, Massachusetts, and her beloved & dear grandchildren, Christina A. Celorier and William J. Celorier of Holliston, Massachusetts. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Sondra Merusi of Cincinnati, Ohio, Richard E. Celorier, Sr. (wife Patricia) of Maine, Kenneth F. Celorier  (wife Patricia) of Framingham, Massachusetts, and several nieces and nephews.

Joan was predeceased by her daughter, Stephanie Marie, and son, Matthew James.  Both were deeply missed but never far from her thoughts.  Her children and her grandchildren were the light in her life.

Joan was blessed to have many long-time friendships over the years. She worked for over 20 years for the Framingham School Department as a secretary at Walsh Middle School until retiring in 1999 to care for her grandchildren. Those who have supported her and the entire family through the years include Alice Stone, June Johnson, Barbara King, Mary Fischer, Julie Gorman, and many others who are no longer with us.

Joan was well known for her cooking and baking talents.  Sunday dinners, biscotti bread at the holidays, birthday dinners for those in and close to the family.  There was never a shortage of good food, good wine, and laughter.

A special thanks to all of those that helped Joan through her final years at the Fresenius Kidney Care Center in Framingham.  The family could not have done it without your support.

Family and friends will honor and remember Joan’s life by gathering for a time of visitation in the McCarthy, McKinney & Lawler Funeral Home, 11 Lincoln St. Framingham on Friday, July 2nd, from 8 – 9:30 a.m.
