City of Framingham Announces 245th COVID Death; 1,500 Active Cases & 524 Individuals in Quarantine.

FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham announced 9 new COVID-19 cases since Monday.

Since the pandemic, there have been 245 deaths, as the City reports another death today, May 19.

Framingham has had a total of 8,249 coronavirus cases since the pandemic began. Framingham has about 74,500 residents.

That means about 11% of the City has been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the pandemic began in March 2020.

The good news is 6,504 individuals have recovered.

As of April 19, the general public, age 16 and older became eligible for the vaccine.

The FDA & the CDC approved Pfizer’s vaccine for individuals age 12 and older this month.

Active cases in the City of Framingham decreased to 1,500.

Individuals in quarantine increased from 491 to 524.

The Commonwealth of Massachusetts is hosting a free COVID-19 testing site, run by Project Beacon.

The site is located at 123 Maple Street in a parking lot owned by Framingham State University.

The drive-thru site is by appointment only and is expected to remain open through early August.

Project Beacon also offers a free COVID-19 testing site at St. T’s on Route 135.
