WELLESLEY – Despite strong individual performances, the Framingham High boys outdoor track & field team lost to Wellesley High 76-60 on Wednesday afternoon, May 12.

The Raiders won 76-60.

The Flyers won the relay event and set a Framingham High record with a time of 43.8 seconds.

Three Framingham athletes also qualified individually for the state tourney in the meet.

Finn Lawson and Sed Lomani finished 1-2 in the high hurdles event.

Lawson, a senior, ran a 14.7 second race, which broke his own Framingham High record.

“Might be the #1 time in the state right now,” said Coach Chris Collins.

Senior Lomani ran a 16.1 second race, which qualified him for the state tourney.

Junior Shand Seiffert won the discus event with a throw of 86-feet, 1 inch. Senior captain Fletcher Calder took third with a throw of 82-feet 6.5 inches.

Senior Emmanuel Kibuuka won the triple jump with a leap of 38-feet, 6-inches.

Junior Miles bishop finished second in the shot put competition, with a throw of 45-feet, 3-inches. It qualified him for post-season action. Bishop also finished third in the javelin event with a throw of 110-feet, 2-inches.

Senior captain Ryan Maliewski finished in second place in the high and long jump event. In the High jump his best leap was 5-feet, 4-inches. In the Long jump it was 20-feet, 2-inches.

Maliewski also won the 400-meter hurdles event in a time of 64.9 seconds. Calder took third in 67.7 seconds.

Senior Mattheus Bussolaro finished second in the dash in 11 seconds flat. Senior captain Colin Jones was third in 11.3 seconds

Jones also finished second in the 200-meter race in 23.7 seconds.

Other second place finishers on the day were:

  • Ryan McIrney in the 400-meter race at 54.4 seconds
  • Senior captain Sam Moffat at 2:08 minutes in the 800-meter event
  • Shand Seiffert with a 4:48-minute mile
  • Arnav Singh with a 2 mile clocked at 10:18


Next up for the Flyers is a meet against the Wildcats of Milton High on Wednesday, May 19 at Bowditch Field.
