HOLLISTON – James A. Porcello, 67, of Holliston and Falmouth, passed away suddenly on Monday, May 10, 2021.

Born in Cambridge, he was the son of the late Maryland G. (Maggio) and Albert J. Porcello. He was the beloved husband of 43 years to Catherine (Fair) Porcello of Holliston.

Jimmy retired in April 2020 after working for 39 years in the asphalt products industry.  He had worked for Triram Corp, The Hudson Company for 22 years and then New England Emulsions, Allstate’s Material Group for 17 years, as the  plant manager. He loved his work. James took pleasure in doing yard work, washing vehicles, taking care of his pool, keeping things clean and making things nice for everyone. During the winter, he could be found sitting by his wood stove as much as possible. He was also an avid New England sports fanatic, whether watching games in person or from his couch. Most importantly, James enjoyed being with his family, especially at his home in Falmouth. He especially loved time spent with his grandchildren, who affectionately called him, Papa.

Besides his wife, James is survived by two children, Angela Marie Mercer and her husband, Kevin of Medford and Domenic James Porcello and his wife, Alexis of Westborough. He also leaves behind his siblings, Janine Galbaith and her husband, Doug of Hudson, Denise LaValle and her husband, Joseph of Grafton, and Constance Demers and her husband, Donald of Marlborough; 4 grandchildren, Isadora, Hendricks, and Kellan Mercer and Elliana Porcello; as well as his in-laws and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
