FRAMINGHAM – The majority of the COVID positive cases in the City of Framingham over the last two weeks are individuals under age 20.
According to data, released by the City of Framingham today, April 21, there have been 270 new COVID cases reported in the last 14 days.
Of those cases, 81 of them are age 19 or younger.
The second highest came from those in their 30s – 62, followed by those in their 20s at 49 cases.
Only two cases were individuals over age 70.

All individuals age 16 and older became eligible for the vaccine in Massachusetts as of Monday.
The City of Framingham is averaging 23.83 cases per day over the last 14 days, which is lower than last week.
The City is reporting a positivity rate for COVID at 3.49%, which is also lower than last week.
The City of Framingham is reporting an average daily test rate per 1,000 of 10.62.

The City said 44% of the cases in the last two weeks are individuals who speak English, with 32% speaking Portuguese and 22% speaking Spanish.
As of today, 8035 individuals in the City of Framingham have tested positive for the coronavirus since the pandemic began in 2020.
As of today, April 21, there are 1,526 active cases of COVID-19 in the City of Framingham, and an additional 701 individuals in quarantine.
The City of Framingham typically releases COVID data on Mondays, but announced this week weekly data will be now released on Wednesdays.
Last week, the City was downgraded to a “yellow” community or a community with a moderate risk of spreading the virus by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. On April 1, the State rated the City of Framingham as a “red” or high risk community.
