Framingham COVID Numbers: 7,741 Total Cases, 241 Deaths, & 1,471 Active Infections

FRAMINGHAM – The City of Framingham announced today, April 7, 32 new COVID-19 cases since Monday, April 5.

That is more than 125 new cases in the month of April.

Since the pandemic, there have been 241 deaths.

On April 1, the Commonwealth of Massachusetts moved the City of Framingham back into the red, designating the community as a high-risk for the spread of the coronavirus.

Framingham has had a total of 7,741 coronavirus cases since the pandemic began. Framingham has about 74,000 residents.

That means more 10% of the City has been diagnosed with COVID-19 since the pandemic began a year ago this month.

The good news is 6,029 individuals have recovered.

Last month, Gov. Baker announced that the public, age 16 and older, would be eligible for the vaccine starting April 19.

Active cases in the City of Framingham decreased from 1,513 to 1,471.

Individuals in quarantine was decreased from 617 to 616.

Framingham Public School district reported 59 COVID cases between staff and students in March.

The school district is in the top 5 in the state for COVID cases.

The school district has had 16 cases in the month of April thus far, including more than a half dozen at the high school.
